Isn't a one year old a little young to be teaching? Honestly, the more I learn about homeschooling, the more I want to say, Definitely Not. I, of course, will not be pressuring Big Brother (12mo) or expecting much progress any time soon, but I believe by incorporating learning into his play, he will be all the more ready to learn by the time he is preschool age.
Here's what I've started doing and what I plan to do if I haven't yet:
Our "School" probably only lasts for about an hour or so. Relative to Big Brother's age though, this really is perfect.
We start with Reading & Scriptures
Reading time incorporates my reading Big Brother both normal one year old books as well as scripture study in a simplified manner. I absolutely love this series for scripture reading and own almost all of them. Big Brother loves to look at the pictures and point to the people. He is also an excellent page turner -

On to ABC's and 123's
Big Brother loves singing. He loves it when Daddy and I sing, and he loves to "sing" along. We like to line up the ABC magnets on his magnet board and sing the ABC's.
As Big Brother gets older we'll start adding more activities that will promote learning; things like play-dough and finger paints when he's old enough to not put them in his mouth, etc.
